Spirit of Jefferson
The Spirit of Jefferson, a replica sternwheeler, cruises from Riverside, the
Farnsley-Moremen Landing between the months of July - October. (Season
schedule for 2009 not yet available.) The Spirit offers Riverside's visitors the opportunity to experience the majesty and beauty of the Ohio River by cruising from a landing on the site. Throughout the 19th century, an active riverboat landing connected this remote farm site to rest of the country.

The Spirit combines the charm of the historic steamboat experience with attractive
modern conveniences. The Spirit boasts two indoor climate-controlled decks and she
has a capacity for 300 passengers. Built in 1963 as the Mark Twain, the boat was
purchased by Jefferson County in 1995 and renamed the Spirit of Jefferson in
honor of her new home.
The Spirit is part of the Belle of Louisville riverboat operation. For further
information on the Spirit and her cruising schedule, call 574-2992 or
go to www.belleoflouisville.org.
Riverside's modern boat landing is completely accessible.
